Pray for Houseguests – Children’s Version
Based on 1 Kings 8:41-43

We are tempted to think that outward things (like a beautiful building, programs, etc.) will make people want to come and be a part of our church family. But King Solomon understood that the only thing that would draw people into God’s family was the Word of God. So he prayed on the dedication day for their new temple that God would draw people in by His Word and learn about true worship inside the temple. So we do the same. We pray for our guests in God’s house that
God would draw them in by His Word and make them a part of His family and ours!

    Imitate the Trinity…Change the World
    Based on John 17:20-26

The Christian belief in God is unique. The Bible describes God as having three distinct persons, and yet he is not three, but one. In Jesus’ prayer he describes how the 3 persons relate to each other. As we imitate the way the persons of the Godhead relate to each other it changes everything in our lives. It makes us live for God and for others rather than for ourselves.

Be Filled with the Holy Spirit
    Based on John 15:26-27

The Holy Spirit can seem rather mysterious to people. People just don’t know much about Him. But Jesus said that the Holy Spirit carries out important responsibilities. He reminded the disciples of everything our Savior said and did so the Scriptures would be accurate. And he works in people’s hearts through the Word of God to bring them into God’s family. And he gives spiritual gifts! We want to be filled up with the Spirit as much as possible!
