The Christian’s King and Cross
Based on Matthew 16:21-26

The church is militant. That’s a phrase that can be easily misunderstood. Christians don’t take up arms and fight other religions. Instead, we recognize the spiritual battle that takes place on a regular basis in our daily lives. Looking to Jesus, we see the battle won by our one of a kind king. And we find our strength to bear our daily spiritual battles only in him.

A Gentle Whisper on the Mountain
    Based on 1 Kings 19:9-18

God is certainly powerful. It was with just a few words he created the entire universe, making everything we see out of nothing. That’s power. Sometimes we expect that the way God accomplishes his plans is through amazing acts of power. But in 1 Kings 19 God reminds us that sometimes he hides his power and accomplishes great things through something as simple as a gentle whisper.

    Glories: Fake and Real
    Series: Risen
    Based on John 17:1-5

Our hearts are always searching for affirmation, praise and acceptance. We look for those things in many different areas, but three of the main areas that we do that is in romantic love, money and success. But none of those things last and none of those things give us the affirmation, praise and acceptance our heart needs. Only a God who gives up all his ultimate affirmation, praise and acceptance can give us the deepest needs of our starved hearts.

    Seeing the Father
    Series: Risen
    Based on John 14:1-12

What was Jesus purpose? What is the point of Christianity? Even Christians will give you differing answers to those questions. Jesus tells us clearly that he came to give us an opportunity to have a relationship with a living and loving God. We see the love of the Father in his word and in the works of Jesus.
