First Things First!
Based on Matthew 14:13-21

This week’s characteristic of the Christian: The Christian trusts in God to provide. Easier said than done, but the Lord gives us many and great reasons to do so. Let his life, his miracles, and his cross, bolster your trust in him to provide!

    What’s Your Greatest Treasure?
    Based on Matthew 13:44-52

We continue to hear parables from our Savior that teach us important truths about life and eternity. In these verses from Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us what our greatest treasure is and encourages us to be willing to give up all else to keep it. There is nothing of greater worth than the eternal life we have in Jesus Christ, given to us through the gospel!

    You Can’t Outsmart Rest!
    Based on Matthew 10:25-30

Worldly wisdom and learning can be a barrier to receiving the gospel of Christ crucified for sins. It was for many in Jesus’ day and it still is in our day, especially in most institutions of learning the world over. You can’t outsmart God and his Word. Best to become like a little child and humbly come to him for wisdom, for rest, for forgiveness.

Hold Christ As Your Mighty Warrior!
    Series: Foundations
    Based on Jeremiah 20:7-13

Sometimes preaching God’s Word seems like an exercise in futility. Sometimes just being a Christian feels like the world is against you. It was no different for Jeremiah and no different for our Savior. And like them, we are not left alone in the struggle. Jeremiah held fast to Christ his mighty warrior as he held him out to others. And so do we.

In Compassion, We See, Ask, and Go!
    Series: Foundations
    Based on Matthew 9:35—10:8

Perspective changes everything. When Jesus saw the crowds rightly for the lost sheep they were, he couldn’t help but have compassion on them. That led to him asking the Father to send preachers to them and sending them out himself. Compassion leads us to see the lost rightly, ask God for workers to witness to them, and to go when the opportunity comes our way!
