What is the Wisdom of the Watchful? – Children’s Message
Based on Matthew 25:1-13

On the Festival of the Saints Triumphant, we look ahead to the final triumph believers will celebrate immediate following the judgment on Judgment Day. That day there will be a great wedding feast for Christ and his Bride—the Church. We all want to be there. Jesus wants us there. It’s that important. It’s eternally important. And so we live in the present, with that future day in mind. We live wisely. We live watchfully. But… what exactly is the wisdom of the watchful?

    Talents for the Tabernacle
    Based on Exodus 35:30—36:7
When God wanted to dwell with his people in a special way, he gave them all the necessary resources and talents to build the Tabernacle. Everyone had something to contribute. Today, God still gives resources and talents for the building up of his Church. And today, everyone still has something to contribute. God help us know our talents, and use them!

    Love Takes the High View
    Based on Matthew 18:15-20

The Church fulfills her role as her brother’s keeper. These days, that statement may smack of political incorrectness or sticking your nose too far in another’s business. But when we take sin and forgiveness as seriously as God does—as seriously as Jesus does in this passage, then our love for fellow believers will move us to be our brother and sister’s keeper.

    First Things First!
    Based on Matthew 14:13-21

This week’s characteristic of the Christian: The Christian trusts in God to provide. Easier said than done, but the Lord gives us many and great reasons to do so. Let his life, his miracles, and his cross, bolster your trust in him to provide!

    What’s Your Greatest Treasure?
    Based on Matthew 13:44-52

We continue to hear parables from our Savior that teach us important truths about life and eternity. In these verses from Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us what our greatest treasure is and encourages us to be willing to give up all else to keep it. There is nothing of greater worth than the eternal life we have in Jesus Christ, given to us through the gospel!
