Will God Forgive Me if Someone Else Won’t Forgive Me for a Sin?
Series: Forgiveness
Based on Matthew 16:19

Sometimes it gets confusing for Christians when we hear Jesus say, “if you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven. And if you do not forgive anyone his sins, they are not forgiven.” It can make you nervous, especially when someone might not want to forgive you when you repent. But God is the final authority on everything - especially forgiveness. Even if someone else won’t forgive my repentant heart, God always will. He even gave his Church on earth the “Ministry of the Keys” to work toward that very goal of repentance and faith. May God continue to grant forgiving hearts - just like his.

Will God Forgive Me if I Refuse to Forgive?
    Series: Forgiveness
    Based on Matthew 6:14-15

Jesus made it very clear that an unwillingness to forgive on my part only drives the Holy Spirit further away from my heart. I always want to forgive from my heart like Jesus did, but there are dangers, pitfalls and snares from the Devil that often make forgiveness challenging for me. Revenge and “wanting nothing to do with you” have no place in forgiveness from the heart. We will continue to run to Jesus for strength to forgive as much and as often as it’s needed!

Must I Forgive Even if Someone Isn’t Sorry? – Children’s Message
    Series: Forgiveness
    Based on Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is easy to say, but very difficult to put into practice so much of the time. God gave us some clear direction about what he wants us to do when someone sins against us. Must I forgive - even if the offender isn’t sorry? The answers is: Yes, if I want to be like my hero, Jesus Christ. Jesus forgives me for my many sins, so he empowers me to forgive - just like he did!

    Love Takes the High View
    Based on Matthew 18:15-20

The Church fulfills her role as her brother’s keeper. These days, that statement may smack of political incorrectness or sticking your nose too far in another’s business. But when we take sin and forgiveness as seriously as God does—as seriously as Jesus does in this passage, then our love for fellow believers will move us to be our brother and sister’s keeper.

    The Christian’s King and Cross
    Based on Matthew 16:21-26

The church is militant. That’s a phrase that can be easily misunderstood. Christians don’t take up arms and fight other religions. Instead, we recognize the spiritual battle that takes place on a regular basis in our daily lives. Looking to Jesus, we see the battle won by our one of a kind king. And we find our strength to bear our daily spiritual battles only in him.
