Reclaiming Practical Grace (July 27 – August 19)
Grace is not something that just “sits on a shelf” in the life of a Christian. It’s a part of our everyday lives. For 4 weeks, join us as we “reclaim” practical grace for our lives in this world and with one another.
August 17 – Reclaiming Grace-Filled Esteem
Pastor Zachary Pudlo  |   Reclaiming Practical Grace  |  Luke 18:9-14
We all have a deep want to be esteemed by others. And often times, that’s what we spend our time and effort doing…gaining other’s approval. God’s approval is the only thing that matters. By his grace in Jesus, that has already been credited to us. And that changes our entire outlook on life!
Pastor Zachary Pudlo  |   Reclaiming Practical Grace  |  1 Peter 1:6-9, 3:13-18
People handle suffering in many different ways. God gives us a rational purpose for suffering. But he also gives us emotional support for suffering. In his grace-filled love, he went through the flames of hells so we wouldn’t have to. And in doing so he accomplished the greatest blessing of all, our salvation. Knowing this helps us go through the “little fires” we face on a regular basis.
Pastor Zachary Pudlo  |   Reclaiming Practical Grace  |  Matthew 18:21-35
It is impossible to give what you don’t have. If you don’t know how much you have been forgiven, you will never be good at forgiving. Daily reminding ourselves of the depth of our sinfulness and the even deeper depth of God’s grace is what gives us the resource to forgive others.
Pastor Zachary Pudlo  |   Reclaiming Practical Grace  |  1 Corinthians 13:1-8
The love of God in us has nothing to do with our abilities or even spiritual gifts. It has everything to do with our motivation. We can’t love with selflessness unless we first have been selflessly loved. God’s grace alone does that for us.
