“Believe the Lord”
Series: Epiphany
Based on Genesis 15:1-6

It’s getting to be that you can’t trust your eyes anymore. Computer-generated graphics on TV and “photo-shopped” images make it difficult to trust what you see. But, in a sense, that’s ok for Christians. We live by faith and not by sight, St. Paul said. Even though things might not always seem right in our life, we still have the promises of God to fall back on. We believe the Lord - despite what we often see on the outside, but especially in light of God’s promises!

  • Dec 24, 2017“Get Ready for a Tender Moment”
    Dec 24, 2017
“Get Ready for a Tender Moment”
    Based on Luke 1:26-38

Christmas is filled with “tender moments.” From gathering as a family around a Christmas tree, watching the little ones rip open presents to watching special Christmas programs that our children are in….it seems to be one tender moment after another. The danger for any Christian is to lose sight of the most tender moment about Christmas. It’s the message about the Savior, found in God’s own Word. We appreciate all the tender moments of Christmas as a gift from God, but treasure the greatest tender moment, the message of the Christ Child’s coming to be our Savior, most of all.

    Dec 10, 2017
    “The Heart of a Messenger”
    Based on Isaiah 40:1-11

What leads someone to be a bold messenger for the Lord? God must first humble you. In the past God has humbled those he sends out. He does that for Isaiah. He does that for you and me.

Jesus Makes Your Hope Sure! – Children’s Message
    Based on 1 Peter 3:18-22

Advent is the season of waiting. We are waiting for Christmas. And we are waiting for Jesus to come again. We don’t wait wondering though. We wait with HOPE. Why? How? Because we know God’s perfect track record. Peter recalls and revels in that track record in his letter.

What is the Wisdom of the Watchful?
    Based on Matthew 25:1-13

On the Festival of the Saints Triumphant, we look ahead to the final triumph believers will celebrate immediate following the judgment on Judgment Day. That day there will be a great wedding feast for Christ and his Bride—the Church. We all want to be there. Jesus wants us there. It’s that important. It’s eternally important. And so we live in the present, with that future day in mind. We live wisely. We live watchfully. But… what exactly is the wisdom of the watchful?
